SATELLITE-TV.INFO

Question: The condo i bought has an exclusivity agreement with a satellite tv service which excludes cable tv. legal?

Sounds like a good idea, however there is some kind of Federal Law that says that the Condo Association must make some kind of accommodation for Direct TV and its stupid Dishes. In my Opinion that law is another example of Government Intrusion into Private Affairs. I hope that all the Members will support the exclusivity agreement - you do not want a bunch of Men with Drills coming to make holes in your exterior walls and putting up ugly Dishes.

Unfortunately yes. It is probably all in your condo provisions. It really sucks but it is probably legal.

If it's a condo, it's probably buried in the CC &R's somewhere.

If you are happy with the condo, give satellite a chance. I have had satellite for the last five years and would never buy a house where it is unavailable. You'll have so many more channels, not to mention Tivo but I guess you can have a DVR with any service now. The cost is comparable,too. I would warn you against a satellite Internet connection for the home,though. It is super slow and somehow more unreliable. Anyway, I hope you enjoy your new home.
