ok well i just recently moved in with my dad and hes like stuck in the 70's still, and he doesnt have cable, doesnt have internet, he watchs over the air antenna tv, i had to buy mobile broadband for my laptop bc dont get wifi here either, etc. anyway i ask him to at least get basic cable he says no he doesnt want to pay for it, doesnt want to be in contract , etc. so i have a couple questions. first of all im 19 years old. i dont have credit, will that be fine to put it in my name still? second of all is there a way i can pay the monthly payment for like 6 months in advance. like if its 20 a month i can just pay them 120 and be covered for 6 months? or do you guys have any alternative options to this? cheaper easier? i really dont need alot of channels, i just want like comedy central, abc family, mtv, spike tv. really just basic channels.. any ideas, answers, or comments? thanksmy dad wont care if i pay for it and have it hooked up, hell let them in to install it, he just doesnt want to have to be stuck in contract or make any payments

How can I drop Direct TV?
Alrite I'm well aware tommorow they are dropping fx,fox,and a handful of other channels,problem is I don't watch TV a lot,but when I do those are the only channels I watch no more soccer, no more sons of anarchy, no more Wilfred Etc. I'm pissed,I told my mom and she's well aware too,I asked her today to drop direct tv but she's telling me were on a contract for another 2 years.I've read that alot of other angry customers claim that direct tv broke their contracts,if so did they break ours too? And if yes then what can we do? If you have direct tv and are in the same situation what are you guys going to do? I'd really appreciate any info,thank you for your time
