Question: Is anyone satisfied with what you get on satellite tv and what you pay for it? we pay for ads and reruns?

You really have no choice. As the satellite companies sell you packages with what you don't want along with some things you do want. If you get all that you wanted it cost a bundle plus pick up a a larger bundle of what you don't want. I'm sick of it.

I love my DISH. Yes, there are channels we don't watch, but I get more of what I do want for less than what cable cost me. Nobody needs six different movie packages, but a lot of people fall for those promotions. The satellite companies have to pay for the channels they offer you, which is why they offer the different tiers of programming. It's based on their costs.
