Unlike Surius XM Radio, why isn't Cable/Satellite TV commercial free?
I was just wondering because I know AM FM radio is free to listen to because of advertisements that account executives search for same with local tv stations NBC, CBS, FOX, ABC, etc and I know that with Satellite radio it's commercial free due to subscribers paying for the service, but why isn't it the same for customers who pay for cable television service, like TNT and MTV have tons of commericals. Anyone know why? Thanks.

what ever channels we as the viewer want & pay for that & that only? Rather than having a hundred different channels with nothing interesting to watch. If so what channels would you get?

We are currently DirecTV customers and pretty happy with our service, BUT.... we're also in Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University so we must make some changes to our budget Satellite TV is something that I could honestly live without, but my husband....says that's not an option, lol. We currently have their 'Choice' package, with HD service $10 month and a DVR $7 month . I called to talk to them and they offered me free HD service and a $10 credit per month for a year. I know this is really good compared to what we are paying now, but I don't think it is the best that I can do. I can switch to Dish Network and get almost the same package for 29.99 month for a year 44.99 regular price but I really don't want to switch if I don't have to. Hopefully some of you have some experience in lowering the cost of watching TV We live in a pretty rural area of the Southeast so I'm not sure that there are very many options, but I'm going to be hopeful Thanks

The cheapest I found was 1 Year Access for USD 29.88. Please let me know if you can or have found it anywhere cheaper, or for a one time payment instead of yearly. Thank you.
Help with Satellite TV?
I don't want to pay for a lot of channels I don't want. How can you get a package that includes only maybe a dozen channels like the History Channel, Golf, CNN, CNBC, FoxNews, Discovery, ESPN, Weather, and not much more? I hate getting all the rest of this crap shoved down my throat that I never watch. I feel that cable and satellite TV is really ripping us off and I believe we should have our own choice and pay for only what we want.
